Antinori produces a vast array of wine from throughout Tuscany (and indeed other parts of Italy too), all all price-points.  And whilst all of the wines are good for their respective level of quality, it is their upper-level Tuscan wines, particularly the two 'Super Tuscans', that are the most interesting.antinori.jpg

The wine that started it for Antinori, 'Tignanello', comes from a single vineyard to the north of Florence, and 'Solaia' comes from a small plot within the Tignanello vineyard.  Tignanello is a blend of around 80% Sangiovese, with approximately 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, whereas Solaia is roughly the opposite, comprised of around 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc.
