With a small production, at least by large Champagne house standards, of 1.7 million bottles average annual production from 14 hectares of owned vines and a further 300 hectares of leased vines.  Elegance and delicacy are the hallmarks of this famous house, which has been under family management (if not outright ownership) since establishment in the early 19th century.  The usage of oak has been gradually increasing in recent years, with the emphasis on greater complexity and longevity rather than overt influence or flavour.

Billecart-Salmon is especially well regarded for their rose-style Champagnes - indeed, around 20% of the house's sales consist of rose.  It is no stretch to suggest that Billecart is indeed the finest producer of rose throughout all Champagne.  However do not in any way overlook their exceptional non-rose styles, as they have a similar elegance and complexity and deliver terrific value for money.
