PYRAMID VALLEY
Tasting notes
ANGEL FLOWER
2008: Very fine, beautiful aromas of red berries, minerals and dust, very beguiling. Finesse and elegance abounds on the palate, yet there is a wonderful richness and fullness despite the elegance, harmoniously filling the mouth and lasting for seemingly minutes. Very complex, wonderfully-balanced and seemingly understated [for the presence and persistence of the wine], this is a wonderful Pinot Noir. 95 points, drink 2012-2018.
2006: Quite bright and fine aromas of minerals, cool dark fruits, very fresh and soft, rounded and beautifully-balanced. An amazing wine not done full-justice in this environment! 95 points, drink now-2014. February 2010.
EARTHSMOKE PINOT NOIR
2008: Beautiful, lifted aromas of smoke, red berry fruit, very fine and pure, with a real touch of elegance. Enveloping in the mouth, savoury and beautifully-balanced. Very fresh acid spine. Constantly evolving in the glass. Beautiful wine. 94 points, drink 2011-2017. February 2010.
2006: In February 2010 the wine showed simply beautiful aromas, with some sour cherry and musk along with ripe red berries. Fine, long and with a wonderful savoury finish. 93 points, drink now-2015. Several months later (May 2010) the wine had more pronounced cherry and minerals, with layers of wonderful red fruits. On the palate there is both ripe, pure fruit as well as a delicious savour, with plenty of fine acidity. Long and very complex, this is a delightful wine. 93 points, drink 2011-2017.
